A Deerfield man and Glenview municipal official was was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage after being pulled over early Wednesday morning by Glenview Police, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Joseph Kenney, 36, of Deerfield and Glenview’s director of capital projects and inspection services, was released on bond and is still employed by the village, the article says. Glenview Village Manager Todd Hileman told the Tribune that an independent counsel is being brought in to work with the human resources department on an independent investigation.
The use of an independent attorney is Glenview’s customary policy, according to Deputy Village Manager Don Owen as reported in the Glenview Announcements. Kenney continues to be employed by Glenview. Owen had no further comment because he wanted to respect Kenney’s privacy.
Owen also said the case is a private matter and Glenview typically plays no role, according to the story in the Announcements.
