Missing Highland Park Woman Found Safe

Arlington Heights Police find Shamin (Samantha) Younis unharmed.

(Updated at 11:45 p.m.) Shamin "Samantha" Younis was found safe and unharmed tonight by Arlington Heights Police, according to Deputy Highland Park Police Chief George Pfutzenreuter.

(Earlier at 3:27 p.m.) Shamin “Samantha” Younis, 49, of Highland Park has been missing since 2 p.m. Thursday when she was last seen in the downtown Highland Park area, according to Deputy Highland Park Police Chief George Pfutzenreuter.

Younis is 5-feet tall and weighs approximately 115 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She owns and may be driving a 2002 Silver Jeep Cherokee with Illinois license plate 6759189, according to a release from the Highland Park Police Department.

“We have reason to believe she may have already harmed herself or have intention to harm herself,” Pfutzenreuter said. “We want to find her and assist her.”
