I-94 Crash Near Deerfield Injures State Trooper

Officer hospitalized with minor injuries.

An Illinois State Police trooper was hospitalized Sunday after crashing on I-94 near the Deerfield Road exit, according to the Daily Herald.

The website states the officer was cut off by another vehicle in a northbound lane on the Tri-State-Tollway around 4 p.m.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the trooper apparently lost control, hit a guardrail and then slammed into the retaining wall on the left shoulder underneath the overpass of the Deerfield Road exit. One lane was blocked to traffic for about an hour.

According to the Daily Herald, The trooper sustained minor injuries and was transported to Highland Park Hospital. No one else was injured.
