Judge Will Not Let Mark Ditka Drive

Facing second DUI charges in a year, Lake County judge will not lift suspension of Mark Ditka's driver's license.

A Lake County Court judge kept the suspension of Deerfield’s Mark Ditka in place Tuesday denying a motion to lift the mandatory prohibition of driving prevliedges which follow some DUI arrests, according to a story in the Lake County News Sun.

Ditka is currently facing two DUI cases, according to Patch reports. Both were made by Deerfield police. He was first charged in 2011 and arrested again in October while the first case was still pending in court.

When a person is arrested a second time, a license is suspended for 36 months, prosecutor Ben Dillon explained in the News Sun story.
