The Deerfield Police Department is joining forces with a past adversary in the annual Grill Off Challenge, being held Saturday at Whole Foods.

The police department has been the champion three years in a row, beating both the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Department and the Bannockburn Police Department.

This year, Deerfield police are teaming up with the Bannockburn and Riverwoods police departments to square off against the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Department, according to the Deerfield Police Department Facebook page.

The Grill Off Challenge is being held Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at the Deerfield Whole Foods. For $6 a plate, customers can vote for their favorite burger based on taste, appearance and team spirit. Money raised goes to Special Olympics Illinois.

Will it be a four-peat for the police department? Who are you rooting for this year?
