Police Blotter: Boyfriend Arrested for Domestic Battery and More

The following arrest information was supplied by the Deerfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Domestic Battery 

Danilo Rentuma, 44, of Deerfield was arrested Dec. 16 for domestic battery after it was reported he slapped and choked his girlfriend at the Red Roof Inn, according to Deerfield Police reports. 

After police received a complaint from guests in nearby rooms at the motel about the disturbance and arrived at Rentuma’s room, he said there was nothing wrong, according to the report. The victim told a different story.

According to the report, the Rentuma slapped and choked the victim as well as calling her a whore. He told her to sleep on the floor because she “was not worthy of sleeping in my bed.” There was no information on the amount of bond or a court date in the report. 

Disorderly Conduct

Michael J. Beauvais, 54, of Deerfield was arrested for disorderly conduct after following a person into the Whitehall and using profanity to address her, according to Deerfield Police reports. 

The victim and two witnesses told police Beauvais walked toward the victim’s vehicle “enraged” and shouting profanity, according to the report. When police talked to Beauvais, he told them he was angry at the way the victim was driving but felt he misbehaved. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 3 p.m. Jan. 22 in Park City. 

Possession of Cannabis 

Amanda Johnson, 23, of Prospect Heights was arrested Dec. 15 for possession of cannabis, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding, according to Deerfield Police reports. 

Police stopped Johnson after clocking her driving 53 miles per hour in a 40-mile per hour zone near the intersection of Lake Cook and Deer Lake Roads, according to the report. After the stop, police smelled the odor of cannabis. 

Johnson admitted two pipes were in the car, according to the report. Police also found cannabis. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 3 p.m. Jan. 22 in Park City. 

Driver’s License Infractions 

Oneida McCarter, 31, of Melrose Park was arrested Dec. 15 for disobeying a traffic signal and driving without a valid driver’s license, according to Deerfield Police reports. 

Police spotted McCarter turning right at the intersection of Lake Cook and Pfingston Roads after the traffic light turned red, according to the report. A check determined she did not have a valid driver’s license. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 1:30 p.m. in Park City. 

Rick Paul, 47, of Buffalo Grove was arrested Dec. 17 for driving with a suspended license and driving an uninsured motor vehicle, according to Deerfield Police reports. 

Police observed Paul driving in the vicinity of Lake Cook and Pfingston Roads when a check showed a suspended license, according to the report. He was then stopped. He was later released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 3 p.m. Jan. 8 in Park City.
