Police Blotter: Credit Card Theft, Property Damage

Disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property 

A juvenile was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property after allegedly throwing a rock at a passing car Dec. 5 near the intersection of Pine and Charring Cross according to Deerfield Police reports. 

The victim was driving a car near Pine and Charring Cross when it was allegedly struck by a rock. The victim reported seeing four boys and claimed one of them fled according to the report. After police questioned the three remaining boys, they identified the fourth who they alleged threw the rock according to the report.

When police encountered the defendant near the entrance to Caruso Middle School he admitted throwing the rock to “get a rush” according to the report. 

Police then questioned the defendant about . The defendant allegedly admitted to one of those acts as well according to the report. He was also charged with criminal damage property for that offense.

Possession of Cannabis 

Robert De Rossett, 29, of Deerfield was arrested for possession of cannabis and use of a wireless telephone and electronic device while driving Dec. 2 near the intersection of Lake Cook Road and Wilmot Roads according to Deerfield Police Reports. 

Police observed De Rossett driving east on Lake Cook Road near Wilmot Road while talking on a cell phone in a construction zone. When police stopped him, the officer allegedly smelled marijuana according to the report. Police also said they found two smoking pipes in the car along with marijuana residue. 

De Rossett will appear in Lake County Criminal Court at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 5 in Waukegan.
