Police Blotter: Driving Without Proper License

Driving Without License or insurance

Corey Parnell, 42, of Chicago was arrested March 21 by Deerfield Police for driving without a valid driver’s license, not having car insurance and driving an automobile with expired plates, according to report.

Police spotted the vehicle Parnell was driving heading west on Deerfield Road when a check with the Illinois Secretary off State database indicated the plates were expired. When police asked Parnell for his license, he said, “I’d gone away for a while and never renewed it,” according to the report.

Parnell said he was driving his mother to work because she was not feeling well, according to the report. She was seated in the passenger seat of the car.

Parnell will appear in Lake County Criminal Court at 9 a.m. April 19 in Park City.

Driving With Rev0ked License

Julie Fabiszak, 37, of Wilmette was arrested March 22 for driving with a revoked license, driving without insurance and speeding, according to Deerfield Police Reports.

According to the report, the car Fabiszak was driving passed the intersection of Deerfield Road and Oxford  heading west at a high rate of speed. When police stopped her she told them she was “driving on a ticket” but a check of the records of the Illinois Secretary of State showed the license was revoked.

Fabiszak allegedly said she did not give accurate information because “she was scared,’ according to the report.

Fabiszak was released on $200 bond and will appear in Lake County Criminal Court at 9 a.m. May 3 in Park City.

Driving with Suspended License

Derrick Slatton, 37, of Waukegan was arrested March 23 for driving with a suspended license, according to Deerfield Police reports.

Police saw Slatton driving a Ford Crown Victoria westbound on Deerfield Road preparing to make a left turn southbound onto Waukegan Road which a random check of his license plates showed the owner of the car had a suspended driver’s license, according to the report.

Police arrested Slatton after determining he was the owner of the vehicle and had a suspended license, according to the report. Slatton posted a $1,500 bond and will appear in Lake County Criminal Court at 10:30 a.m. April 19 in Park City.
