Police Blotter: Drug Busts; Retail Theft

The following incidents were reported by the Deerfield Police Department.

Drug Arrests:

Darold Richardson, 40, was taken into custody after police discovered a glass pipe on his bed along with several bags of marijuana. Police went to investigate an incident at 617 Waukegan Rd. on March 31. The homeowner, Richardson, questioned them about their presence.

Officers reported that another resident invited them into the home, which was when they allegedly uncovered the cannabis. Authorities also said Richardson resisted arrest while he was being taken into custody. Along with drug charges he was slapped with an obstructing/resisting an officer charge. His court date is April 27.

Amanda Kolle, 23, of Rolling Meadows, was pulled over by police March 29 during a random registration check near Lake Cook and Birchwood roads. Officers discovered Kolle was driving with a suspended license . They also spotted a pipe and what appeared to be burned cannabis residue inside her vehicle. Kolle, who claimed she was pregnant and didn’t do drugs, was charged for both offenses. Her court date is set for April 21.

Retail Theft:

Jeffrey Austwick, 69, was charged with retail theft after an incident at Whole Foods on April 1. An employee at the supermarket told police he watched Austwick put a bottle of wine down his pants and then try to leave the store without paying for the item. When police searched him, they also discovered a bottle of stolen lotion. His court date is May 9.
