Police Blotter: DUI Arrest and Theft
The following incidents were reported by the Deerfield Police Department.
The Deerfield Police Department provided the following report. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt.
DUI arrest
Sultan W. Hassan, 27, of Buffalo Grove was arrested for DUI around 4:15 a.m. Oct. 1 at the intersection of Deerfield Road and Pine St. According to police he was observed swerving within his lane onto the yellow line and breaking numerous times even though there was no vehicle in front of him. He was also charged with driving without a rear registration plate light and driving with a defective windshield.

Lost purse
A purse containing an iPhone, prescription glasses, lipstick and a contact lens case was taken from the restaurant at between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. Oct. 1.

Car damaged
The front drivers side of a Honda was damaged between 3:30 and 3:45 p.m. Sept. 30 at .
Breaking curfew
A 15-year-old girl from Wheeling was arrested for violating curfew around 1:45 a.m. Oct. 3 at the Lake Cook Depot, where she said she was waiting for a cab to take her home. According to police, she said she had been in Chicago with friends all day and had missed an earlier train home.
