Barry Carr, 50, of Deerfield was arrested May 1 for driving under the influence, according to .
Police observed Carr driving a black Porsche 10 miles an hour below the speed limit and drifting into the center lane of while driving westbound on Lake Cook Road just past Waukegan Road, according to the report. At one point before police stopped Carr at Pfingston Road he was “evenly straddling the lane divider.”
According to the report, Carr “appeared nonchalant and unconcerned” when the officer expressed concern about Carr driving home because of the results of a field sobriety test. Carr refused to take a field breath test.
Car was released on $100 bond and will appear in Lake County Criminal Court at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Waukegan.
Several power tools were stolen from two vans parked in a driveway in Deerfield, according to Deerfield Police reports.
The victim told police he was sleeping when he was awaken by a barking dog shortly after 10 p.m. He saw the side door of his van open in his driveway and called police, according to the report. When police investigated with the victim, they found power tools missing.
The victim had a second van parked in the driveway, according to the report. He and the police then noticed it too had tools missing.
Loan V. Varcig, 20, of Chicago was arrested May 8 for retail theft from Sports Authority, according to Deerfield Police reports.
According to the report, Deerfield police were contacted by the loss prevention department at Sports Authority and told the store had a cooperative offender. Police arrived and took Varcig into custody.
