Police Blotter: DUI, Driving on Suspended License

DUI 

Mohamed Pirzada, 30, of Buffalo Grove was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol Dec. 30 near the Walgreens corporate headquarters on Wilmot Road, according to reports. 

An officer near the location on other business allegedly observed a green Honda being driven erratically on Wilmot Road and come to a stop after damaging property, according to the report. That officer summoned another officer to the scene.

The second officer approached the Honda, saw two men in the front seat and spoke to Pirzada sitting in the driver’s seat, according to the report. The officer allegedly smelled alcohol and heard slurred speech from Pirzada. 

The officer administered a field sobriety test which Pirzada failed. He refused to take a breath test either on the scene or at the Deerfield Police Station. He was also charged with failure to give information after damaging property and released on $300 bond. No information is available on Pirzada’s court date.

Driving on Suspended License 

Henryk Gul, 44, of Glenview was arrested Dec. 30 for driving on a suspended license in the vicinity of Waukegan Road in Deerfield, according to a Deerfield Police Report. 

According to the report, an officer was on patrol and noticed silver Toyota Tundra being operated on Waukegan Road. The officer checked the plates and learned it matched a vehicle owned by a person with a suspended license. 

When Gul allegedly made an improper left turn, the officer stopped the vehicle, asked for the operator’s license and determined Gul was allegedly driving on a suspended license, according to the report. 

Gul was released on $150 bond. He will appear in Lake County Criminal Court at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 12 in Park City. 

Kathryn Jo Deer, 46, of Highland Park was arrested Dec. 30 in Deerfield for operating a black SUV with a suspended license, according to Deerfield Police reports. 

Police spotted the black SUV with license plates suspended for failure to have insurance and stopped the vehicle, according to the report. After asking Deer for her license, police allegedly learned it was suspended as well. 

According to the report, Deer “was in complete shock” when she was informed of the suspension. She was charged with driving with a suspended license, driving with a suspended registration and operating a vehicle with no insurance. She was released on $3,000 bond. She will appear in Lake County Criminal Court at 9 a.m. Jan. 19 in Park City.
