Police Blotter: DUI, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

DUI 

Reveriano Campos-Vincente, 43, of Arlington Heights was arrested March 24 for driving under the influence, improper lane usage, no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving a vehicle with one tail light, according to . 

According to the report, Campos-Vincente was driving a maroon van westbound on Lake Cook Road in an “erratic” fashion when the police attempted to stop him. It took the use of a siren before Campos-Vincente brought the vehicle to a stop on the median strip near Takeda Parkway.

Police observed Campos-Vincente had allegedly bloodshot eyes and an alcohol odor coming from his mouth but could not perform a field sobriety test because of the language barrier between the alleged offender and the officer, according to the report. 

When Campos-Vincente was given a breath test at the Deerfield Police Station, he tried three times but allegedly could not push enough air through the machine to register, according to the report.

Campos-Vincente was released on $3,000 bond and will appear in Lake County Criminal Court at 9 a.m. April 18. 

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving with Expired License 

Ari Klopfer, 23, of Deerfield was arrested March 29 for possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with an expired license, according to Deerfield Police reports. 

Police spotted Klopfer driving on Deerfield Road near Forest Avenue with only one headlight working. After inspecting Klopfer’s driver’s license, police discovered it allegedly expired on June 19, 2010, according to the report. 

After being stopped, Klopfer allegedly told police he was too lazy to renew the license and admitted to having a smoking pipe in the car, according to the report. He consented to a search and the pipe was found.
