Police Blotter: No Arrests Reported in Deerfield Last Week

"The following arrest information was supplied by the Deerfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction."

No arrests were made by Deerfield Police for the week ended Feb. 11 but there were two reports of identity theft and one of a break in to an automobile, according to Deerfield Police reports. 

Identity Theft 

On Feb. 9 a Deerfield resident reported a PayPal account was opened in the person’s name without authorization charging the victim for $1,201 of goods and services, according to the report.

Police report they talked to a representative of PayPal who told them an investigation was taking place. The matter remains under investigation with Deerfield Place as well.

On Feb. 6, a Deerfield resident reported their social security number was obtained to an unknown person, according to Deerfield Police reports.


According to police, the victim learned of the alleged identity theft when accounts were opened without their knowledge or permission at Target, two Best Buy stores and a Kohl’s in Wisconsin as well as Sears, Toys R Us and Cabelas without locations. 

The victim has cancelled all credit card accounts and reported the incident to three credit reporting agencies, according to the report. An investigation is still pending. 

Automobile Burglary 

On Feb. 10, police reported a van was burglarized in the vicinity of 440 Lake Cook Road, according to Deerfield Police Reports. A number of power tools were reported stolen.
