Officers were called to Best Buy on Feb. 15 in response to a criminal damage to property report. An employee told police the day before 20-year-old Molly Ball had tried to make a return several times that was declined. The employee says Ball was irate and stormed out of the store pounding her palm into an automatic door as she walked out. Employees say the door was knocked off its frame and hasn’t worked properly since. A door technician confirmed the damage. After contacting the Wheeling woman several times Ball showed up to Deerfield’s police station on Feb. 16 and was charged with criminal damage to property. Her court date has been set for March. 3.
