Police Blotter: Traffic Dispute Leads to Arrest

Woman also reports stolen wallet while attending class at Patty Turner Senior Center.

Criminal Damage to Property:

On Sept. 19, police responded to Dartmouth Lane and Kenmore Avenue in response to a traffic dispute. One of the drivers told officers he was exiting northbound Interstate 94 onto Deerfield Road when another driver pulled up alongside him and started honking, swearing and giving him the middle finger.

While both vehicles were stopped, the driver told police that Jordan Kane, 33, of Deerfield, got out of his car and punched the passenger side of the vehicle, causing a scratch and dent.

Police confirmed there was a five-inch scratch and dent on the victim's car. Kane was arrested on a charge of criminal damage to property.

Theft:

Police responded to the on Elm Street in response to a theft. The victim told officers that on Sept. 22 she was taking an English class at the facility and noticed her wallet was missing from her purse afterward.

The woman told police she had placed her purse in the back of the room when the class started. Inside was her driver's license, credit cards, $30 and a gift card for $90.

The center’s administration informed police that the room was never left unattended during the class and doubted that the woman's property was stolen or lost while at the facility.
