Police Blotter: Two Arrested for Driving With Suspended License

Speeding With Suspended License 

Gerardo Perez, 26, of Chicago was arrested Jan. 15 by Deerfield Police for speeding with a suspended license in the vicinity of Lake Cook Road and Pine Street, according to reports. 

Police stopped Perez for allegedly driving 55 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. Perez was unable to produce his driver’s license explaining he had previous tickets showing the officer the receipts for those infractions, according to the report. He also told police he thought the speed limit was higher.

After checking the status of Perez’s license, police learned it had been suspended for a previous conviction for driving under the influence. 

Perez was released on $150 bond. He will appear in Lake County Criminal Court at 10:30 a.m. in Park City.

Driving With Suspended License 

Amy Jo Nabar, 35, of Chicago was arrested Jan. 11 by Deerfield Police for driving with a suspended license and having an improper license place cover, according to Deerfield Police reports. 

Police spotted Nabar driving a black Volkswagen near the intersection of Waukegan and Lake Cook Roads with a prohibited license plate cover, according to the report. Nabar was unable to show police her driver’s license claiming it was in a coat pocket at home. 

After checking with the Illinois Secretary of State’s data base, police determined Nabar’s license was suspended. She was charged with driving with a suspended license and with a prohibited license plate cover. 

She was released on a recognizance bond and will appear in Lake County Criminal Court at 9 a.m. Feb. 16 in Park City.
