Very odd! The child ran across miner/ a busy street/ and jumped into the des plains river on a freezing cold day? Where was his mother?! Something either very " wrong" with the kid. Or has to be some other aspect to this story.

Wait. First it says Jumped, then it says Jumped or fallen into the river. Which is it? Can't be both. Why would he run across the street like that? Running from something or someone? Who was in charge?

It's so awful that this child felt that jumping into the lake was his only option to get away from whatever he was running from. Our children need to know that it's always ok to ask for help. Where is this young boy now?
