Robbery Offenders Point Gun at People in Store
Details of Monday's armed robbery in Deerfield begin to emerge.
Details of an armed robbery Monday in the 100 block of South Waukegan Road include the offenders enforcing their will on customers and employees of the business at gunpoint, according to a release from the Deerfield Police Department.
The three suspects remain in the custody of the Deerfield Police Department pending approval of charges from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office, according to the release. Names are being withheld until charges are approved.

Two of the offenders entered the store and one was armed with a handgun, according to the release. The two subjects ordered the customers and employees into a back office and began removing a large amount of the store’s merchandise before running to a vehicle driven by a third offender.
Officers responding to a 911 call made from the business followed the offenders north on Interstate 94 toward Half Day Road where the offending vehicle struck a median as it tried to exit Highway 22 and go east, according to the release.

The offenders then fled on foot and were ultimately caught after a search of the area by local police agencies, according to the release. No injuries were reported during the robbery or search.
Deerfield Police were assisted by the Bannockburn Police Department, the Northbrook Police Department, the Lake Forest Police Department, the Highland Park Police Department, Lake County Sheriff’s Police, the Wheeling Police Department, the Buffalo Grove Police Department, the Winthrop Harbor Police Department, the Mount Prospect Police Department, the Lincolnshire Police Department, the Northfield Police Department, Illinois State Police and Air One.
