Same Car’s Tires Slashed in Highland Park, Then Deerfield

The following arrest information was supplied by the Deerfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Criminal Damage to Property 

A tire was slashed in the driveway of a home in the 900 block of Northwoods Drive between the evening of May 15 and the morning of May 16, according to Deerfield Police reports. The person reporting the event said a tire was slashed on the same vehicle the night before in the parking lot at Highland Park High School.

A purse, two cell phones, $150 in currency and credit cards were taken from a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 400 block of Woodvale between 9 and 11 p.m. May 17, according to Deerfield Police reports. The victim told police the purse was left in the car with the door unlocked around 9 p.m. and the items were gone when she returned two hours later.

Margaret Kurus, 19, of Riverwoods was arrested May 17 for driving with a suspended license, driving uninsured motor vehicle and driving with one headlight illuminated, according to Deerfield Police reports. After topping Kurus for equipment violation, police learned her license was suspended. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 1:30 p.m. July 2 in Park City.
