Shots Fired in Red Roof Inn Parking Lot

A man fired shots at a car Monday in the Red Roof Inn parking lot in Deerfield, according to a news release from the Deerfield Police Department. Police responded to a report of shots fired at the location.

Preliminary witness statements indicated a black male with cornrows braids wearing grey jeans and a hoodie was seen with a hand gun shooting a vehicle in the Red Rood Inn parking lot, according to the release.

The release also indicated the suspect could have been staying in one of the rooms at the motel. Several rooms were checked but the suspect could not be located. Officers on the scene could not find a victim of the shooting or a victim’s vehicle which may have been shot.

There are no further leads at this time, according to the report. An investigation is continuing.

Police officers from Highland Park and Northbrook assisted Deerfield Police.
