Speeding Driver Leads to Drug Arrest
The following arrest information was supplied by the Bannockburn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Kimberly Mariano, 30, of Chicago was arrested Friday for driving under the influence of drugs, possession of cannabis, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding, according to Bannockburn Police reports.
After clocking Mariano driving 54 miles per hour in a 40-mile-per-hour zone on Half Day Road, police stopped her at Lakeside Drive. After stopping her, police smelled a strong odor of cannabis. A search turned up both marijuana and drug equipment. She agreed to complete a DUI kit. She was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. Dec. 11 in Waukegan.
Boguslaw Wieczorek, 38, of Des Plaines was arrested Friday for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after the car in which he was riding was stopped for speeding. After the stop, police detected an odor of cannabis and a subsequent search turned up marijuana and drug equipment. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. Nov. 26 in Waukegan.
