Speeding Leads to Drug Bust

Possession of Cannabis and More
Anthony Romo, 26, of Waukegan was arrested August 16 for possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding, according to Deerfield Police reports.
Police stopped Romo for driving 55 miles per hour in a 30-per-mile-hour zone in the vicinity of Waukegan Road and North Avenue, according to the report. After the stop, police learned his license was suspended and there was cannabis in the car. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 3 in Park City.

Drivers License Infractions and More
Monique Green, 22, of Chicago was arrested August 21 for driving with a suspended license, driving with suspended registration and driving with only one headlight illuminated, according to Deerfield Police reports. After stopping her for the headlight violation, police discovered her license and registration were suspended. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 1 in Park City.

Juan Escobedo, 40, of Chicago was arrested August 20 for driving without a valid license, driving an uninsured motor vehicle, driving with a suspended registration and failure to move over or slow down while approaching an emergency vehicle. Police stopped Escobedo because he sped past an emergency stop on Lake Cook Road near Northbrook Court. After the stop, police discovered the other violations. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 3 p.m. Sept. 17 in Park City.
Perla Casarrubas, 32, of Wheeling was arrested August 19 for driving without a valid license, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while using a hand held cell phone, according to Deerfield Police reports. After stopping her for using a hand held cellular device near the intersection of Deerfield Road and Rosemary Terrace, police learned of the other violations. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 1 in Park City.
