Speeding Leads to DUI Arrest and More

The following arrest information was supplied by the Deerfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI 

Veacelav Bandalac, 30, of Wheeling was arrested March 23 for driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and driving an uninsured motor vehicle, according to Deerfield Police reports. 

Police clocked Bandalac driving 47 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour zone on Waukegan Road in the vicinity of Deerfield Road, according to police. After he was stopped, police smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath. He failed field sobriety tests and recorded a blood alcohol level of .201. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Waukegan.

Soliciting Without a Permit 

Jerome Ousley, 31, of Chicago was arrested March 22 for soliciting candy sales outside Walgreens without a permit, according to Deerfield police reports

After checking, police confirmed Ousley had received two previous warnings for selling without a permit, according to the report. Walgreens confirmed he did not have permission. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 1:30 p.m. April 16 in Park City. 

Driving Without a License 

Marius Mafteon, 28, of Lincolnwood was arrested March 26 for driving without a valid license, according to Deerfield Police reports. After a random check in the vicinity of Lake Cook and Deerlake Roads, police determined Mafteon did not have a license. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 1:30 p.m. April 16 in Park City.
