Three Ejected From Van During Crash

Five people sent to hospital after Tollway collision in Lake Forest.

Five people were injured in a three-vehicle collision including a tractor-trailer on the Tri-State Tollway near Highway 60 in Lake Forest today, according to the Illinois State Police.

Though three people were ejected from one of the vehicles, a van, none of the injuries were severe. “At first we thought the injuries were serious,” Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Pete Howe said. “That turned out not to be the case. None were life threatening.”

The van was heading eastbound on Interstate 94 toward Chicago when it lost control, swerved across all lanes of traffic and was struck in the rear by the truck, according to Howe. A third vehicle, a car, hit the truck.
