Tip to Police Leads to Arrest

Ida Ely, 61, of Mt. Prospect was arrested July 5 for driving without a valid license, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and driving without a child safety seat for a child under eight years of age, according to Deerfield Police reports. 

Police received a tip Ely, who was wanted in Stickney for home repair fraud, was at the Red Roof Inn in Deerfield. After spotting her, police stopped her near the intersection of Waukegan and Dundee Roads. After the top, police learned her license expired in 1997. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 3 p.m. August 6 in Park City. Stickney Police were informed of the situation.

Mario Sanchez-Pantoja, 27, of Prospect Heights was arrested July 10 for driving without a valid license and failure to obey a stop sign, according to Deerfield Police reports. After observing Sanchez-Pantoja “make no effort to stop at (the stop) sign,” he was stopped. Police then learned he did not have a valid license. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 3 p.m. August 6 in Park City. 

Maurice Presley, 29, of Chicago was arrested recently for driving with a suspended license. Police stopped Presley after making a routine check near the corner of Lake Cook and Pfingston Roads. They learned his license was suspended. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 3 p.m. August 6 in Park City.
