Vehicle Collision Leads to Arrest

Driver’s License Infractions
Merbil Mancilla, 39, of Wheeling was arrested May 6 for driving without a valid license, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving an uninsured motor vehicle, according to Deerfield Police reports.
Mancilla was involved in a collision in the vicinity of Deerfield Road and Jonquil Terrace, according to the report. While investigating the crash, police learned she did not have a license. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 1:30 p.m. June 4 in Park City.

Criminal Damage to Property
Profanity was scratched into a car parked outside a residence in the 1100 block of Elmwood on May 11, according to Deerfield police reports. The owner of the vehicle discovered damage after it was done.

Theft
Aleksander Gershengorn, 31, of Mundelein was arrested for theft May 7, according to Deerfield Police reports. Loss prevention personnel at Whole Foods observed Gershengorn put five items in his pocket and leave the store without paying for them. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 3 p.m. June 4 in Park City.
