Woman Arrested for Passing Counterfeit Bill

The following arrest information was supplied by the Deerfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Cashay Lee-Hill, 17, of Milwaukee was arrested May 4 for felony forgery for trying to buy $8.68 worth of merchandise at Bed Bath and Beyond with a counterfeit $100 bill, according to Deerfield Police reports.

After an employee at Bed, Bath and Beyond suspected the money was counterfeit and informed Deerfield Police, Lee-Hill was stopped by police as she and a companion, the driver of the car in which she was riding, tried to enter Interstate 94 at Waukegan Road, according to the report.

While investigating the vehicle, police located a “thick white piece of paper stuffed into an open sunroof area between (the) roof of the car and the headliner. Inside the folded piece of paper was 10 $100 bills,” according to the report. Police contacted the United State Secret Service, an agent came to the Deerfield Police Station and confirmed the money was counterfeit.
