Board Considers Approval of New Restaurant
New Eatery offering healthy choices seeks approval to open near Deerfield and Saunders Roads.
Deerfield’s newest proposed restaurant offering healthy food to its clientele will ask the Village Board of Trustees to bring it one step closer to reality when the lawmakers hear reports from both the Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The new restaurant plans to open at 780 Saunders Road just south of Deerfield Road. It will be owned and operated by Anil Abbot and his wife, Upsana Abbot, who currently own the mini mart and service station at the corner of Deerfield and Saunders.
The Abbots received final approval from the Plan Commission for their special use permit and from the Zoning Board of Appeals for variances last month. Should the Board approve the report from the Plan Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals, they could get final approval as early as July.
Also on the Board’s agenda Monday are a report from the Plan Commission for changes at Congregation B’nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim, parking arrangements with Deerfield Public Schools District 109 and an ordinance regulating temporary signs.
