Board Holds Public Hearing on Commercial Waste Hauling

Commercial recycling will be part of the package.

A public hearing to help the Village determine whether to award Lakeshore Recycling a commercial scavenger license for Deerfield will be part of the Village Board of Trustees meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Village Hall.

The Village held an open house Dec. 10 to introduce the business community to Lakeshore. Deerfield has been studying the idea for more than a year. Commercial recycling is now voluntary in town but the proposal will make it mandatory. There is wide support among Board members.

Also on the agenda is a report from the Plan Commission to consider a special use permit to open a dry cleaning business, CD One Price Cleaners, at 190 Waukegan Road.
