Board Set To Vote on BYOB Law

Trustees will also hear report on progress of Northwest Quadrant planning.

A potential vote allowing Deerfield restaurants with an existing liquor license to permit diners to bring their own wine to the establishment is on the agenda for the Village Board of Trustees at 7:30  p.m. Monday at Village Hall.

A plan which allows diners to carry one bottle of wine per two people into an eatery was approved by the Village Board of Trustees July 15 and will be on the agenda in Monday for approval, according to the agenda published in the Village’s website.

The Board will also hear a report on the work of the Northwest Quadrant Unified Task Force for the area of downtown spreading northwest from the corner of Waukegan and Deerfield Roads and is likely to vote on the annexation of land to make way for the Woodview Apartments in the Parkway North area.

Led by Trustee Tom Jester, the task force charged with developing a plan for the area bound by Waukegan Road on the east, Deerfield Road on the south, the railroad tracks on the west and Hazel Avenue on the north intends to make the area greener and more pedestrian friendly.

A status report on the Public Works Department, an increase in the authorized strength of the Deerfield Police Department and the approval of new signage for Dunkin Donuts are also on the Board’s agenda.
