Candidates Campaign in Downtown Deerfield

Contenders for six offices greet voters in downtown Deerfield Saturday.

With the April 9 election a week away, candidates were busy meeting voters Saturday and doing some voting of their own.

Mayor Harriet Rosenthal, who is unopposed in her bid for reelection, hosted an event Starbucks Saturday morning along with her Village Board slate—incumbents .

While Struthers, Oppenheim, Farkas and Rosenthal were talking to people over coffee, three contenders for the Township High School District 113 Board of Education——showed up to communicate their message. Annette Lidawer and David Greenberg are the others seeking the three seats. Lidawer is currently a Board member.

At the same time, Village Board candidate Robert Nadler stood outside the early voting center located at the West Deerfield Township office greeting people on their way to cast ballots. The other person seeking one of the three seats on the Board is Jerry Kayne.

Feiger, Scott, Schwartz and Lesiotis are part of the Democratic Party Township slate along with assessor Tom Healy and Board candidates Ron Levitsky and Jack Strom.

The Republican ticket has . Healy is unopposed.

Early voting continues from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Township office through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
