Commercial Waste Hauling Open House Set Tuesday

Local businesses will have the opportunity to meet Deerfield's potential waste and recycle hauler.

More than a year in the making, Deerfield is moving closer to using one waste hauler for its businesses with an open house between 3 and 5 p.m. Tuesday at Village Hall for Lakeshore Recycling, the potential scavenger, according to a news release from the Village.

If the proposal ultimately goes through, it will include both recycling and waste hauling. Recycling is voluntary now.

The Village has been working with local businesses and the Deerfield Bannockburn Riverwoods Chamber of Commerce for nearly 18 months putting a program together. Over the summer the Village requested proposals from interested haulers and Lakeshore got the nod.
