Deerfield Network Helps Residents Connect to Teens for Odd Jobs

Teen Connect lets Deerfield youth sign up to do yard work, shoveling and other odd jobs as needed.

After fielding calls from residents asking for names of teens who would be willing to help with yard work, shoveling and other odd jobs, Deerfield is setting up a network to help those residents and interested teens connect, according to an article in the Deerfield Review.

Called Teen Connect, the system lets teens sign up for different types of jobs, like raking leaves or mowing lawns, and specify their fee. Residents who want some help can get a list of available workers from the village. The residents are responsible for contacting the teens and setting up any work, according to the Deerfield Review. The program is modeled after one in Skokie.
