Update: Night Deerfield Road Lane Closures Last All Week

Deerfield Road west of Waukegan Road will be reduced to one lane east and westbound starting tonight at 10 p.m. will last all week.

(Update: Wednesday at 10:15 a.m.) The night time lane closures on Deerfield Road to repair a gas valve will last the rest of the week, according to an email from the Village.

(Earlier: Tuesday at 4:03 p.m.) Gas main work on a leaking gas valve will begin tonight at 10 p.m. and continue through tomorrow morning at 6 a.m., resulting in lane reductions on Deerfield Road west of Waukegan Road, according to an email from the Village.

The work will reduce the eastbound and westbound lanes on Deerfield Road from the intersection at Waukegan Road to roughly 100 feet to the west, according to Kyle Devore, of Meade Construction, a subcontractor for North Shore Gas.

This is not that helpful. Exactly where will the road be blocked?

Starting at Waukegan Road - head toward the viaduct that was just redone for about 100 feet. Both the east and westbound lanes will be reduced. If memory serves, all the pipeline and other infrastructure that was laid in when that road was redone is on the south side of the street. So it sounds like that side will be closed off, and 2-way traffic pushed into the North side... Hey, at least it's happening overnight instead of during the day when it'd really knock traffic for a loop...
