Deerfield's Community Service Day Set Saturday

Village, Park District and Fire Department join forces to demonstrate public service.

Community Service Day, a celebration of a number of services offered by government units around Deerfield will be held from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday at Jewett Park, according to a news release from the Village.

The annual event is a joint effort of the Village, Deerfield Park District and the Deerfield Bannockburn Fire Protection District.

Events will include a “touch a truck” activity, pet vaccination and micro chipping, a question and answer session about flood plains and live music. There will also be an electronics collection sponsored by the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) at the Deerfield Public Works facility.
