Deerfield's Sales Tax Revenue on Track for 5-Year Low

What do you think the village should do to reverse that trend?

Deerfield’s 2014 sales tax revenue is tracking toward a five-year low, according to an article in the Deerfield Review. A good holiday shopping season could reverse that, though.

Revenue was up each year between 2009 and 2012, then started to drop last year and has continued to do so this year, the article says. A loss of big businesses like Office Depot, Best Buy and Borders helps explain the trend.
