Feiger Becomes West Deerfield Supervisor

West Deerfield Township Board names Alyson Miller Feiger to replace Julie Morrison as Township supervisor.

Alyson Miller Feiger became the West Deerfield Township Supervisor Thursday, one day after her predecessor, .

Feiger will serve the remainder of Morrison’s tenure and run for a four-year term of her own April 9 against Jack Koenig of Bannockburn, a Republican. Feiger is a Democrat. State law requires in circumstance like this a member of the same party become the interim office holder.

“I am honored to be appointed as township supervisor,” Feiger said. “As a lifelong resident of Deerfield, I feel that I have a deep understanding of our community's shared values and a strong commitment to serve our residents.”

Feiger hopes to continue Morrison’s established practice of helping those in the area most in need.  “I plan on using my work in the Township to continue the legacy established by Julie Morrison of providing valuable services to our community in an efficient and fiscally responsible manner," Feiger said.

The West Deerfield Township Board of Trustees made the choice along with Morrison before the new state senator took her current post. “I have great confidence in Alyson's abilities to work as our Township Supervisor,” Morrison said. “She will be a compassionate and dedicated leader for our community."

West Deerfield Township includes all of Deerfield and parts of Lake Forest and Highland Park.
