Former Woodfire Building Returns to Board Agenda

Village Board of Trustees will also consider the signage for a proposed new business.

Renovation of the building which once housed the Woodfire Restaurant will be part of the agenda when Deerfield’s Village Board of Trustees meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Village Hall.

The Board will consider a recommendation from the Plan Commission to demolish and rebuild the portion of 360-380 Lake Cook Road building which once housed Woodfire while making less extensive improvements to the portion housing the Charles Ifergan Salon and a dry cleaner.

“It will have a seamless look,” Deerfield Planner Kathy LeVeque said in October of the property when done. The Plan Commission gave it a unanimous recommendation Sept. 26.

Also on the agenda will be an appeal from the denial of a sign by the Appearance Review Commission for the proposed CosmoProf, a supplier of cosmetology equipment, at 405 Lake Cook Road.

The complete agenda can be found on the Village website.

No kidding. The Village forgets the sales tax revenue and focuses on the signage while the store owner stews... Anyone notice the tree removal taking place on the USBank property downtown today? Yep, that's the land that the Village Board decided to lease from the bank so we the tax payers could maintain the land....silly me for questioning why the Village would do such a thing. Worked out pretty well for the bank. I bet it's at least an $1800 removal. It doesn't have to make sense. I keep forgetting that. Sorry, I just hate seeing taxpayer money wasted on a non sales tax producing business property while the board delays sign permits.

You must be hating the stimulus waste, 555555555.556 times larger than $1800, of wasted taxpayer money.

RB....As a matter of fact I did see them feeding parts of the trunk into the wood chipper while sitting at the light. Totally awed by the power of wood choppers! Frankly, I found that particular tree in all of Deerfield rather annoying and am glad it's gone. Well...actually...the tree was less annoying than McClown and I'd really like to see him gone...he being just as dense...but...I'll just be happy at the moment with the tree removal.
