  • Brad Schneider (D) - “Budgets are about priorities -- a reflection of who we are as a country, what we value, and what we see as our future…and while we need to reform our budget, we need to do it in a way that puts our values first.”

“As more and more people continue to struggle to find work, as companies with high-level openings can’t find skilled workers, we need to change the way we do business in Washington to address our challenges and take advantage of the opportunities to get our economy moving again.”

  • Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) – Dold chose not to participate in this forum while Schneider has elected to avoid seven debates throughout the District where Dold will appear.

IL Senate 29th District

  • Julie Morrison (D) - "I also serve as the Township's case worker.  I get to work with people who are feeling the hardships of our bad economy and pair them with vital services like the food pantry, foreclosure counseling, and how to keep seniors in their homes.  My experiences have given me a unique perspective on what our state is facing.  I'm the candidate in this race that represents the values of the 29th District.  I am pro-choice, against concealed carry, and I want to protect funding for education and human services."

"I want to increase the number of tax payers in our state, not the amount of taxes we pay.  Our state needs to implement tax credits to reward businesses that create jobs."

  • Arie Friedman (R) - "I want to read to you what the Chicago Tribune wrote about my candidacy.’Republican Arie Friedman, a Highland Park pediatrician and former Navy pilot, is one of the strongest candidates we see on the ballot this year. He's brimming with ideas on how to promote jobs — starting with repeal of the state income tax hike. Friedman is endorsed.'"

My father Eugene ran as a Democrat for this same State Senate Seat in 1990. If you want to know my credentials for working across the aisle in Springfield - try growing up as a Republican in Eugene Friedman's house."

IL House 58th District

  • Scott Drury (D) - "I want to usher in a new era of government," Drury said, based on "credibility and responsibility."

"[Illinois] can do better, we have to work together," he added, promising to reach across the aisle, if elected.

Drury also promised to fight state funds reaching companies that do business with nations hostile to Israel.
