Kirk Speaking Well After Stroke

Republican leader reports on his visit with the senator.

is speaking well and clearly as he recovers from a stroke suffered Jan. 21, according to remarks made by Lake County Federation President Alexander Stewart Friday at his organization’s 50th anniversary celebration.

Stewart told more than 600 people gathered in Lincolnshire for the event about the 45 minute meeting he had with Kirk recently.

“He is very much on message,” Alexander said. “He spoke well and clearly. He is eager to get back to Washington and start serving the state again.” Stewart was impressed with Kirk’s awareness of the issues and ability to articulate them.

In the last few weeks questions have been raised about the progress of Kirk’s recovery and the public’s right to know, according to a report on ABC news. The story indicated no information was being offered by his doctors or his office.
