Patch Thanks League of Women Voters, Community, Candidates for Successful Debate
More than 600 people turned out to the event, which featured the 10th Congressional District candidates, state Senate and House race candidates and Lake County Board candidates.
As Patch editors started planning our 2012 election coverage, we of course set out to inform voters — but more than that, we wanted to foster engagement in the political process.
"Participate 2012" is Patch's national theme for the general election, and we aim to bring that energy to local voters.
So imagine how thrilled we were to see the standing-room only crowd at the debate sponsored by League of Women Voters of Lake Foret/Lake Bluff, Deerfield and Highland Park/Highwood as well as Patch and the Union League Club of Chicago Sunday at Lake Forest High School's auditorium.

More than 600 people attended the debate, which kicked off with Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) and his , candidates for the Illinois General Assembly and Lake County Board candidates.
