Facelift starts on corner of Waukegan and Deerfield Roads.

Initial work to develop the public plaza at the northeast corner of Deerfield and Waukegan Roads began Tuesday, the day after the Village’s lease of the property with US Bank became effective.

Landscape equipment and Village workers were there in force Thursday to start the landscaping efforts. This is the beginning, according to Village Manager Kent Street.

“We’re doing modest spring landscaping to bring it up to a more acceptable level,” Street said. What else will be done? “The flowers will come up and we’ll take it from there.”
