Village Board Briefs: Final Budget Meeting Set April 16

Mayor asks staff to refine budget and seek additional revenue sources.

During a public hearing on the starting May 1, asked Finance Director Robert Fialkowski to find additional savings before the Board of Trustees gives final approval April 16.

Fialkowski told the Board the budget of just over $56 million would be balanced through revenue and the use of cash reserves. Income will include increases in certain fees like sewer and water.

Rosenthal also asked staff to look for ways to find sales tax revenue producing uses for property when businesses like retail stores and restaurants are replaced by office buildings.
