Village Board To Consider Commercial Recycling

Trustees will also take a look at a new business and flooding issues in North Trail subdivision.

A resolution to award a commercial waste hauling contract for nearly all businesses in Deerfield which will include a recycling component will be before the Village Board of Trustees at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

If the discussion at the Jan. 6 Board meeting is any indication, Lakeshore Recycling Systems is on the verge of getting a contract to haul the solid waste of most of the Village’s businesses. The package will include free recycling for 75 percent of the companies in town.

Currently, businesses contract on their own and recycling is voluntary.
