Village Sponsors Waste Collection Saturday

People can dispose of household chemicals from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Deerfield High School.

People with household chemicals they no longer want or need can take advantage of a free collection from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today at Deerfield High School hosted by the Village and sponsored by the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO).

People can bring CFL bulbs, unwanted prescription medicines and supplements (people and pet), household cleaners, gasoline, garden chemicals, pesticides, pool chemicals, driveway sealers, oil-based paints and varnishes (no latex) as well as other chemicals, according to SWALCO.

This event is open to Illinois residents only and is limited to residential waste. No items from commercial users are allowed. Electronics will not be accepted. For more details see SWALCO’s website.
