One, at 1525 Oakwood Place, is fire damaged. Case has been working with the owner for a year to bring the property up to code. The other, at 1128 Havel Avenue, is deteriorating while two banks fight over its future, according to Case.
“We try to finesse compliance so we don’t have to go do demolition,” Case said. Letters will be sent and conversations had. Legal proceedings are a last resort but necessary when the Village is left no alternative.
