Baking Soda for Alkalinity

Benefits of baking soda

This Sunday is Super Bowl 2013 and everyone will be eating the “forbidden food”, which leads to acid reflex. We found a great article on how to prevent and reverse pH imbalance.

Baking Soda for Alkalinity

“One of the greatest…cures I have found happens to be one of the easiest!.. It’s in that little gold box of baking soda you use to keep your refrigerator smelling fresh… I use it as a ‘little miracle remedy’ for allergies, anxiety, colds, fatigue, infections, memory loss, osteoporosis, weight gain, and much more,” writes Susan Lark, M.D., in The Doctor’s Treasury of new Healing Choices. Lark asserts that baking soda reverses over-acidic conditions and that stress, toxic foods and environments contribute to acid-causing processes. It is important that 70-80% of the diet consist of alkaline-forming foods and that excessive amounts of acid-forming foods be avoided. As an occasional medicine to help balance pH, mix ¼ to ½ teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of pure mineral or spring water and drink twice a day, either in the morning or at bedtime. Lark maintains that alkalizing will help prevent colds, flu and allergies because these conditions thrive in acidic environments. Also, alkaline conditions promote stronger bones. Balancing your bodies pH can lead to increased energy, more stamina, better sleep, better digestion, sharper thinking. So, de-stress, balance your diet with 80 % alkaline foods, and use baking soda as an occasional medicine to help balance an over-acidic condition.
