In October 1 Woman’s world magazine in the section “Mood-boosting Herbal beauty treats” I found a great recipe for herbal shower tablets. I figured out that it could also make a great hostess gift or a holiday gift for people who love botanical or aromatherapy body care.
Accordingly to the magazine, scientists in U.K. discovered that scent of mint significantly boosts alertness (I also know that from studying aromatherapy oils). The recipe below includes mint tea. I’ll tell you that the stronger the mint tea is, the more aromas the tablets will release. They suggest putting the tablets on the shower floor and when they dissolve they will release aroma boosting circulation, brain awareness and skin glow. This is the recipe:
Mix ½ cup of sunflower oil, 1 cup baking soda. 1 cup citric acid, ½ cup cornstarch and ½ cup loose mint tea. Knead until a crumbly dough forms. Press mixture into an ice cube tray. Set overnight and unmold in the morning. Keeps: Indefinitely.
