Potato Sprout Inhibitors

Few weeks ago a friend of mine told me that she works for a lawyer who represents the company that makes potato sprout inhibitors. It gave me goose bumps because that is another chemical added to a vegetable which is supposed to work as an anti-oxidant strengthening our immune system.

I decided to experiment with 2 potatoes, both bought at Whole Foods. One was grown organically, another – traditionally. Here is a picture of both of them.

As you see the chemical really works because organic potato tried to multiply and grew sprouts, the other one has no sprouts and is as fresh as it was just dug out of the ground.

This is another reason to eat organic. Anything that is certified organic cannot be genetically modified, sprayed with chemical to preserve life and freshness or grown with use of chemicals. If more of us eat organic there will be more organic farms, more competition, and the prices on organic food will go down. As a result there will be less cancer, less autism and less of immune disorders.

I thank my body every day for fighting to provide safe home for my mind.
